One day I can have my girlfriend cloned, kewl!

Oh boy, would this rock or what?

Just think of the possibilities. Not just one but two, three or even more clones of my girlfriend. And I wouldn't even be doing anything wrong, would I? After all, I'm still with my girlfriend, right?

Anyway, some scientific dude has been given a licence in the UK to clone human cells.

This is getting eerily close to what were once just sci-fi dreams. Remember the Repet company in the Arnie film, The 6th Day? Well, fiction became fact last year in America. Miss your cat or your dog? Wish you could have it back again? Genetic Savings & Clone's got yer back, bro. Check out their site for people who look less real than the cloned pets, man. Unless you're that kind of American "people", I guess.

It's scary, which brings me back to my pet subject (pun intended, woof woof!). Cloning one's Thai girlfriend could have all manner of benefits, most of them nocturnal but then again, I shudder to think of what I'd be up against when all four (or do I want six?) of mine throw a wobbly at the same time.

We men go on and on about the craziness of women in general but here in Thailand, that craziness can develop surreal and sometimes extremely worrying new dimensions. Reminds me of one of my favourite science-fiction short stories, published in an early issue of OMNI magazine.

A scientist tried to create the ideal cloned woman. His first "successful" attempt was physically perfect. In fact, she was perfect in every way. The only problem was that her perfection made her boring. So he altered the computer program so it would throw in a random error.

So ideal woman V2.0 was produced. The man spent ages trying to spot the flaw. But try as he might, he couldn't figure out what was wrong with her...... until the night she murdered him. The author must have had the stereotypical farang man in Thailand experience. Or met some of my ex-girlfriends.
