Do you have to have a pornstar name to send spam?

The spam I get on my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts can be hilarious. What really creases me up is the 'pornstar' names the senders always seem to have.

Does anybody out there really have friends or family with names like Mia Ransom, Jordan Parrish, Katheleen Leigha, Effie Blankenship, Allie Ferreira, Rosendo Kraft, Erma Bautista, Otto Wade, Leonora Lavonna, Twila David, Mandi Libbie, Earline Eleonore or Angel Reynolds?

Well, yes, actually. There was an Otto Wade. What's this I find? Holy cow! He was one of the Beverly Hillbillies!

And who the hockey puck are the likes of Garland Mcclure, Milford Barlow, Cornelius Cordero and Ida Fontenot? Come to think of it, most of these names seem to share an uncanny relationship: they're all classic old-world, dirt road, ever-lovin', farm-country, back-woods, redneck, trailer-trash names. OMG, are there hidden riches in the mobile home backwaters of America? Are there inbred multi-millionaries busy harnessing the power of the internet?

Names like that couldn't be real anywhere I ever lived. They couldn't be. For sure, no kid with a name like those would have made it out of my old neighbourhood alive.

But then again, you never know.....

Even the non porn spam comes from porn stars, judging by names like Dannie Wood, Manuela Chase and Dolly Pitts.

For same strange reason, my Google Mail spam folder is always full of spam from South America. Strange.

I guess "Tu título oficial Microsoft a un precio imbatible", "Todos los cursos y masters que buscas" and "Si te quedas en casa, gastarás más" beats the endless stream of offers to see housewives undress.
