Nightlife | Rave? Bangkok? This Friday? Yep.
![]()
A good friend of mind (word up Anti), just told me about a rave happening this Friday @ The All Seasons Place on Wireless Road. Yep I did say rave. Anyone remember Ministry of Sound before the brown boys started busting in the bars with thier urine tests? Anwyays I doubt it would be wise to mess with any class-a's during this particular event as the website clearly announces it is a drug free party. Whiskey works for me. Here is what the promotor says on their website:
"It seems time is now ripe for Thailand to experience its first rave. While the exact essence of a rave has been impossible to recreate in Thailand, we are attempting to keep the raw material. The conservative attitudes of Thailand would ensure that if a real rave were to be held, the gentle police officers would show up with their sample bottles, ruining everyone's night.
However, we at Rave Party Crew have done our best to ensure a perfect night out for everyone. A luxurious location, at the very top of Bangkok with great DJs, great music, alcohol in excess and a party atmosphere like none other. Party people shall flock there in great numbers, looking to spend the night of their lives. It should also go without saying, that the party is DRUG FREE."
Time: Friday, April 29th '05 | 21:00 - Sunrise
Venue: 52nd floor CRC Tower, All Seasons Place, Wireless Road
Tickets: 600,- baht regular (Incl. 2 drinks) or 1000,- baht VIP (Free drinks until 1 am + VIP area access)
Contact: 070-598585 or 09-5336620
Sounds interesting no? This weekend is also a long weekend for anyone not keeping score. Anyways, should be nice to break the monotony of another Friday night in the 'Kok. See you there.

I went to the Pop Magazine launch party there, pretty good. It's like an empty floor of an office tower.

I am hearing rumours that this party is cancelled:
Hi,
Sorry to say that the party has for now been postponed. Our insurance company pulled out at the last minute, leaving us with no liability insurance. We will keep you posted, and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks,
Rave Party Crew

this whole rave thing reaks...i have been reading about this on bangkokspin...i dare not say this there so i will rant it out here...
first off if you were to announce a party anywhere else a month before it started (like these guys did), and then cancel it 2 days before (with a lame excuse as above) - then I'm sorry but you would be strung up and never listened to again. also you would be forever labeled a complete tard.
is it just me or is every so-called dj in bangkok a useless airheaded flop who more than likely is really just teaching english? every second guy i run into these days says he's a freaking dj. my favorite response is: 'hey don't talk to me like i'm on of your girlfriends at the plaza pal'.
"While the exact essence of a rave has been impossible to recreate in Thailand"
huh? who are these fools?

We apologize for that, but All Seasons Place will not allow us to organize such a large event without liability insurance. ANYONE who has ever organized a large event should know that.

Huh? Insurance? This building IS in Thailand, isn't it?
Mur ha ha ha!

i understand how people are dissapointed at this idea. Mr.Van Kieth and Mr.Rick Salasar i aslo understand u'r dissapointment and unpleasant comments but i believe things can change in a better ways where people can come and enjoy saying "this stuff is GOOD". Is that easy? i believe it is not. we are postponding it so people can come and enjoy better without anyproblems.
by the way Mr.Rick Salasar, do u know any better idea for an excuse? if u are professional in it. why not suggest us? i know world is not a sweet place as we dream. but why not we all be optimystic for once and we all make a better nightout? give us u'r ideas or dreams that u want the party to be like.

Sorry, you misunderstood my comment, puerile though it was. I was making a joke about how slipshod, poorly organised and "standards-free" things in Thailand tend to be. It wasn't a criticism of you. I'm an old man. I don't rave. Apart from the raving lunacy, of course.

"i know world is not a sweet place as we dream."

Anyone know whats commin up on the Bangkok breakbeat/house scene? Today is May 10th. Anything soon email me. thanks. J

Hmm I wasn't aware there was a scene.
Silom Soi 4 - Tapas is the only place that comes to mind for House. Maybe House night at the Bed (Wed?) or Code Bar on RCA as well.

breakbeat/house? you don't really mix those two, do you?
Posted by: Rick Salasar at May 15, 2005 07:42 PM
